With a highly questionable move by The Commish,
Testaverde is back with Plunk's Pack after the
decision was made that he was a free agent and had no
committments to any team from week 6 to week 9.
"Skullduggery is afoot." commented The
Commish in his weekly report to the coaches.
He said it was time to take a stand and that the
". . . under the table dealings. . ." of
Coach Plunkett and Coach Wagner's team, as he put it,
has gone too far.
The Commish's ruling on the matter of Testaverdes
committment was that:
"Vinnie (whom every body seems to want)
was held by Plunks Pack. However with an IR, the
Pack picked up Dilfer for week 7 and played him.
On week 8, the Pack played Elway. When the IR
ended on week 9, no notice of action was received
by the Commish who then proceeded to place Dilfer
on the roster. When the Commish did this, no
appeal was filed by the Pack. This being the
case, the Commish ruled Vinnie to be free."
However, The Commish later said, "Vinnie may
play for the Roughers this weekend. However, after
such time he will become the property of the Pack
permanently."
As stated in the report The Commish did understand
nor like what he believed went on behind the scenes.
The main problem he had was the tremendous amount of
conditions placed on both teams in order for the
Roughers to aquire Testaverde.
The coach of the Reddog Roughers, Michael Wagner,
seem pretty calm when this reporter asked him about
the ruling. He stated, " I don't necessarily
agree with what transpired, but I respect the power
and final decision of the Commish."
When asked what he thought this decision would do
to his chances in the playoffs, he commented, "I
feel realy good about the Roughers. I think that the
transition from the old team and the new team went
more smoothly than I expected. We are going to use
Testaverde as much as we can this before we lose him
back to the Pack; and the following weeks are more
than adequately covered by Dilfer and Brunnel."
He also added that if Brunnel's dislocated finger
was not feeling any better for week eleven, he still
had O'Donnel to fall back on.
Scotty Plunkett, the coach of the Pack, was
unavailable for comment at this time, but Mr. Wagner,
who is a close friend as well as a fierce competitor,
said that he had not heard of any adverse reaction
from him. With that we wish both teams successes to
come and we will keep bringing you the latest of this
brutal battle for second place in league.
