The Roughers lost half their team this last
weekend without the help of their fickle coach.
Both quarterbacks, a running back, and a Tight End
may be out for a week or so recovering from injuries.
Even the Reddog Rougher's IR-man, O'Donnel, had been
benched.
"I can't believe it. . . " commented
Coach Wagner after checking the Injured roster during
Monday's night game ". . .I was planned to carry
out the season with this roster."
After going through one team and finding just the
right high scoring players, the roughers' face
another challenge.
"It was hard enough trying to find free
agents the first time." stated Coach Wagner.
"I did have an extra Quarterback that I left off
the roster last week." The coach said that the
quarterback he almost chose last week was Gus Ferrote
of Washington.
He also stated that he had already got on the ball
to get in replacements off to the Commish to accept
or deny. "The problem being," started Coach
Wagner, "that at this late point in the season
most of the exceptional player are taken. . . mostly
by the No-shows"
The coach of the Roughers was still relieved and
ecstatic at the win over Coach Robertson's Papa's. He
needed this win to keep the first place slot in plain
view.
"I had no doubt about my team putting the
Papa's in their place (probably back to
fourth)," commented Coach Wagner, "but with
about as many injuries as OU has can My Team hold up
against the Pack and My last shot to beat the
No-shows?"
He also told this reporter that it was lucky he
lost Testaverde when he did, because it seems this
much argued over quarterback is down and out with the
flu. The Coach just hopes that The Pack's coach, Mr.
Plunkett, has enough chicken soup on hand.
