Share and Share Alike. . . . . . Rougher Tie Once Again

Noboby goes home the winner with bragging rights for next year as the Roughers' curse has stricken again ending the Super Bowl in a tie and end up sharing the trophy with the No-Shows.

"We really don't have a way of breaking a tie in the Superbowl since most of the coaches teams hardly ever make it to the playoff," Commented the Commish.

The only team that really had the majority of players in the actual playoffs were the Reddog Roughers thanks to Coach Wagner flippant attitude about his line-up after mid-season.

Coach Wagner stated, "It was hell watching the game come to and end with only getting the necessary two point to tie with the No-shows who lived up to their name by not showing up and not scoring any extra points with Bledsoe." He added, "It was especially hard to watch with the other coaches present reminding me every second that I was only a pass (from Bledsoe) away from losing."

Every Coach but one, the No-shows, showed up by halftime to accept their awards. The awards were as follows:

  • Coach Johnson - Highest Scoring Player Award for playing their kick Cary Blanchard and show that the Colts were actually good for something.
  • Coach Wagner - Best 1997 FFL Newsletter & Best Mid-season Pick Award for accepting Trent Dilfer from Coach Plunkett for agreeing not to play Testaverde against them.
  • Coach Robertson - Highest Scoring Team Award for pushing his players & opponents to the limit and putting up a good fight for each team that beat him. (406 total points for the season)
  • Coach Muske - Commissioner of the Year & Most Kind and Giving Coach Award for giving No-show the best players, For giving the Papa's & Cheeseheads a chance to get off the bottom, and forgiving the antics of the mischievous Pack and Roughers.
  • Coach Plunkett - Bruised and Battered Award for having the most bruised team just while in control of Trent Dilfer and for being the most Battered by the Press afterwards.

Now I don't know what was meant by giving that "whining" Coach of the Pack the award for being battered by the press.

This brings the end to the first volume of the Athlete's Foot(ball) Times for 1997. We all here hope you enjoyed the sports updates and the hard time we gave the commish and the coaches at both ends of the league. I hope this provides a standard for which all other Fantasy Footbal Leagues strive. Bringing "Sports Stats and Controversy for All!" this is your mild manor Coach of the Roughers' alter ego, JockReport, signing off until next year.

Happy Holidays!
