Ready. . . Set. . . Touchdown!
(Please forward to Kevin. . . I don't have her email)
Coaches and fans gather nationwide to be a part of the AFT
1999 Draft with great expectations.
"Well, we got everybody rounded up." Commented Coach Robertson
owner of the retired Rougher's nemesis, the Papa's. He added, "It looks
like it will be me, Ms. Lori, Christine, Ms. Kevin, and [Kristopher] .
. . including Scott, Ms. Rachel, and [Coach Wagner]."
That's eight coaches sportsfans with three newcomers from
Oklahoma, Ms. Kevin, Kristopher, and Ms. Lori. The rest of the coaches
are returning from last years heated battle of the sexes where the women
have repeatedly shown who control the [foot]balls when it comes to this
sport.
Earlier this evening while gathering up his final weapons
to take into Friday's draft, Coach Wagner stated, "This year we add 2
new women coaches, Ms. Lori and Ms. Kevin, with red in their eyes looking
straight at the AFT Championship."
This will also add two more coaches who will narrow the
number of players to chose from the following years. "As you may remember
the last two years, when I was with the Reddog Roughers, I tend to change
players in midstream." Commented Coach Wagner, "Not going to be as easy
this year."
These two extra coaches will most definitely draw out the
1999 Friday Night Draft (4PST/6CST/7EST) and leave many of last years
coaches with slim pickin's (for all you rookies and newbies, Slim Pickens
is not a valid draft choice).
It is rumored that Coach Robertson and Coach Christine have
already met prior to plan a rushed strategy for the Friday Night Draft.
Coach Robertson stated to a reliable source, "We should probably have
like a 30 to 60 second time limit. this would speed things up."
He was later heard defending his words by stating that he
just wanted to make sure everyone got to start their Labor Day weekend
festivities as early as possible.
"[Coach Robertson's] reasoning seems sound to me. I am also
off this coming Monday and can't wait to start exploring the sites of
Washington, D.C. I have been here three weeks and have only gotten to
places around the Capitol Hill area. However, I did take a quick detour
to the Columbia Heights area of the Metro where the new subway stop is
about complete. I later found out that a couple of weeks ago there had
been two murders in that same area."

This draft should go pretty smooth and quickly depending on how prepared
the all the coaches come to the table. Each coach should have an ordered
list from best to least from which to pick no less than 16 players listed
for each position (2QB, 2TE, 2K) and at least twice that many for running
backs (RB) and wide receivers (WR). That way coaches can cross off draft
picks as they are chosen and take the next player on the list.
The reserved players and new divisions are as follows:
Eastern Division (determined by workplace):
Mr. Wagner, Washington, D.C. - None reserved
Ms.Lori, Stillwater, OK - Newbie
Ms. Johnson, Stillwater, OK - RB-Moss & QB-Cunningham (Minn)
Mr. Kristopher, Stillwater, OK - Newbie
Western Division (determined by workplace):
Prof. Plunkett, LA, CA - None reserved
Ms. Rachel, LA, CA - QB-Farve (GB) & RB-Taylor (Jck)
Mr. Robertson, Stillwater, OK - RB-T. Davis (Den)
Ms. Kevin, Stillwater, OK - Newbie
As many returning coaches can plainly see, Coach Wagner's
sudden relocation to the East Coast has displaced Coach Robertson from
the eastern division and placed him in the AFT Western Division where
he may find better luck and player consistency this year.
Coach Robertson is also keeping only one running back, T.
Davis of Denver. No kidding!
This year and the division decision by workplace (except
Coach Kristopher because I did not know where he worked) also evenly distributes
men and women in both divisions, which also share a coupling (Coach Johnson
& Kristopher and Coach Plunkett & Ms. Rachel).
Again the Draft is scheduled online in three places and
way to connect by coaches and fans at promptly 4:00 p.m. PST (6:00 p.m.
CST) 7:00 p.m. EST Friday, Sept. 3, 1999.

You may notice a regrettable absence of our former and lovable
Commish and Coach Muske, owner of 1997-98 Glenn's Gorillas. After the
news of the untimely demise of our esteemed Western correspondent, Johnny
B. Goode, it is rumored that Coach Glenn - formerly known as Commish -
packed up and headed toward the devastated South Carolina coastline to
begin an all out search. They will both be missed this season and hope
Coach Glenn will continue to cheer on the league and stay in touch.
Coach Wagner commented, "I don't know what I am going to
do if my new team drops to the bottom of the rankings without Glenn's
Gorillas their to keep me company."
Coach Robertson of the Papas stated, "We have decided to
exclude Coach Glenn becuase that would make an odd number [of teams].
So we will have 8 coaches. . ."
The quotes are starting to come and more are always welcome.
It is going to be another great season to find out who walks away with
the AFT Championship. It has been held jointly by the western division
and eastern division in 1997 by Coach Wagner and Ms. Johnson. Last year
it was won by the western division's rookie, Coach Rachel and her Rebel
Rousers.
With new divisions and rivals, it is hard to say if the
Pack and the Rebels can keep up their dominance of the league with high
scores like last year or if the rookies and the new Federalies can lock
these two team at the bottom of the league.
Stay tuned for the Live NetCast of the 1999 AFT Friday Night
Draft, keep emailing me great quotes AND. . . Let's play!
