Federalies and Cats Promise a Fierce, Wild Opening Eastern Battle

The mid September season opener puts Coach Christine's new team ,"Wild" Cats, against Coach Wagner's new and "Fierce" Federalies.

"I am glad to be in the Eastern Division this year and have a chance to start the 1999 season with my new team pitted against last years top ranked teams." Commented Coach Wagner. "I feel that our new team is going to win. We need to win."

Coach Wagner is not going to have an easy time going against the rebel Rousers and the Wildcats (formerly known as NoShows). Both Coach Christine and Coach Rachel kept both of their strongest players from last season. Coach Wagner's only player he rescued from the retired Roughers Roster was his quarterback, Trent Dilfer. He did however get to steal away Shannon Sharpe from the Rebels' 1998 roster in the Pre-darft.

Coach Rachel and Coach Plunkett start the season head to head in the same division and as the top two highest scorers from last season. Will the Rebels be able stay on top of the league without their tight-end, Shannon Sharpe? Coach Rachel also changed many of her players from last year by acquiring Ben Coats, a high and consistent player last year as a Reddog Rougher.

Coach Wagner stated, "I wasn't too happy to love one of my New England players who also just happened to be a number one draft choice this season, but Coach Rachel beat me to it. I was able to pick up many other great players from last year should help me. She may have beat me in the draft, but she won't beat me this season. I am going to bring the championship back the Eastern Division."

Two new players are introduced this season in the season opener playing each other for their beginning ranking in the AFT League. Coach Lori a former consultant with Papas last year introduce a spinoff with their own team, the Mamas. Coach Kevin bring her own spin of the West with her Kowboys who include Troy Aikman of Dallas, and Chumra and Longwell of Green Bay.

I am sure that Coach Lori will be singing, Mama don't let your babies (players) grow up to be Kowboys this weekend. Many of Coach Lori's team found their start with the Reddog Roughers in previous years. Vinnie Testeverde, Emmit Smith, Ricky Waters, J. Smith, and Ed McCaffrey are just a few from the retired Roughers. She was abe to take Kordell Stewart from the Papa's last year.

"I am just glad that many of my old players were able to find a slot in the AFT league this year even after two seasons of stressful inconsistencies in their scoring. ( hated to let Testeverde go after the trouble I had to get him from Plunk's Pack, which started JockReport's career within the AFT" Commented Coach Wagner of the Retired Roughers.

Finally, Coach Robertson is back again this year with a whole new team and their favorite player, Terrell Davis. They start the season in a the Western Division thanks to Coach Wagner's relocation to our nations capitol and up against a new team within that division, the Farfegnugens.

The Farfegnugens are coached by Prof. Kris Giles and is no newcomer to the league. He had been present at last years draft as NoShows primary draft consultants. After the NoShows failed to make it to the chamionship playoffs last year he decided to go out on his own. He is in the opposite division as the NoShows most recently knowns as the Wildcats and expected to confront them in week 7 of the season.

The deadline to get players to Commisioner Miguel (JockReport@aol.com) for this coming weekend's games will be this Thursday, September 9, 1999 at (4PST) 6CST (7EST). This date is also also known to many techies as another of the Y2K problems because it shows up as 9/99/99 that may not registered on many noncompliant computers, unless you owna MacIntosh. Good luck on your new teams and IBM/Microsoft Computers!

Happy 2nd Birthday to Brooke Robertson of the Mama's and the Papa's this Saturday (9-11).
